Cheat Codes for The Sims 1
Below is a list of handy cheat codes for The Sims.
To open the games cheat console, hold: Ctrl+Shift+C
Money Cheats
- klapaucius - Adds §1000 to your holdhold funds. This cheat only works in an unpatched game
- rosebud - Adds §1000 to your holdhold funds. This cheat only works in a game with patches/expansion packs installed
- ;! - Adding one or more of these after "klapaucius" or "rosebud" will add an additional §1000 each. Example: "rosebud;!;!;!;!;!" will add §6000 to the holdhold funds
Note: The "motherload" cheat, aka the cheat that adds §50,000 to the household funds, was not introduced until The Sims 2.
Gameplay Cheats
- move_objects on/off - "move_objects on" allows you to freely move normally unmoveable item such as the mail box, bills or Sims. Also allows you to delete such objects. Move_objects off turns off the cheat.
- autonomy [1-100] - Sets the level of free will Sims have in the game. 1 is effectively no autonomy while 100 is max.
- sim_speed [-1000 to 1000] - Sets the simulation speed when in Live mode. "sim_speed 800" is normal speed while "sim_speed 1000" is ultra speed.
- water_tool - allows you to add water to the lot in the form of a pond.
- map_edit on/off - When set to on, enables the ability to edit neighbourhood lots.
- visitor_control - Allows you to contro visiting Sims/guests.
- interests - Shows the selected Sim's interests and personality.
- freeall - Everything in Buy Mode becomes free, aka 0 Simoleons.
Other Cheats & Commands
- crash - Forces a game crash.
- nessie - Shows the Loch Ness Monster in the neighbourhood screen.
- save - Saves the current household.
- quit - Immediately closes the game.
